Volunteers Guide
  • Before beginning a voluntary job it is important to think about the length of regular service, this is particularly important in work involving the building up of relationships with those whom you have offered to work with. Remember that other people will rely on you as a volunteer.

  • Ensure that the person in charge knows of your intention – especially if you only plan to work as a volunteer for a short period of time.

  • It is far better for volunteers to begin modestly and perhaps increase their involvement later, rather than begin enthusiastically and drop out after a short time.

  • Make sure you know what your work will entail. It is important to be clear from the beginning why you are involved and what is expected of you. Check to confirm how long you may be needed. If you have any queries on the work or organization ASK!
